Richard E. Chandler, Jr. (Rich) is a Executive Vice President and General Counsel and has practiced law for more than 40 years.
Rich is a highly experienced and sophisticated corporate attorney who has practiced law for more than 40 years and served as a senior executive and General Counsel for several multibillion corporations, including three publicly listed companies (NYSE and NASADAQ), along with serving as a partner to a major international law firm in Houston.
He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, complex litigation/arbitration, corporate governance, and international business transactions, including defense of a $2 billion arbitration claim relating to the expansion of a refinery in South America. He also led the legal team in negotiations of CB&I’s disposition of its nuclear construction business to Westinghouse, its $3.2 billion acquisition of The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SHAW) and while at Smith, the $12.2 billion merger into Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB) in 2010 and a $3.3 billion tender offer for W-H Energy Services (NYSE: WHSE) in 2008.
